Construction companies need reliable technical support on site - setout surveys that are accurate and on time, as-built records that satisfy council and engineering requirements, construction monitoring that keeps quality assurance documented, and engineering advice that resolves problems in the field rather than weeks later. Orogen provides that support to contractors working on residential, civil, and infrastructure projects across the Wellington region.
We understand how construction programmes run. We know that a delayed setout survey holds up the pour, that a missing as-built measurement creates a gap in the certification record, and that the value of an engineer's site visit is often measured in what it prevents rather than what it formally records.
Construction programmes are time-pressured. A survey or engineering support service that takes days to respond when the contractor needs it in hours creates real cost. Technical support needs to be available at the pace of the build, not the pace of an office-based service schedule.
Complex Structures
Bridges, retaining walls, multi-storey buildings, and precision civil works - require setout accuracy that goes beyond standard residential survey. Errors in setout on these structures are not discovered at final inspection: they are discovered when components don't fit.
Our setout surveyors are experienced across the full range of construction types: residential dwellings, civil infrastructure works, and multi-storey and precision construction. We work around the contractor's programme, provide clear and durable marks, and respond quickly when the programme changes or a check is needed.
Construction Phase Support
Our construction monitoring services produce QA documentation in formats that councils and engineers accept for certification - compaction test records, conformance reports, site visit observations, and as-built coordinate schedules. We collect data during construction rather than reconstructing it after, which means the record is accurate and complete when the certification package is assembled.
For contractors working under NZS 3910, we provide Engineer to the Contract services: certifying progress claims, assessing variations, and issuing the engineering instructions and certifications that keep the contract moving. Our CPEng engineers are available for site visits and technical queries throughout the construction programme.
